At Taskrabbit, we love introducing you to Taskers who use their unique backgrounds, skills, and entrepreneurial spirits to build their businesses. Today, we’re excited to share the story of Kyle A., a 30-years-young Tasker from Denver, Colorado, who has blended his passion for fitness with Moving tasks to earn money and set himself up for financial success.
We chatted with Kyle about his entrepreneurial journey and what he has learned about managing his finances along the way. Here’s what he had to say!
From Fitness to Full-Time Moving
Kyle’s journey into the world of being a professional mover started six years ago as a part-time gig. After finding Taskrabbit, he built a business doing all types of Moving tasks, including ones under the Help Moving, Full-Service Help Moving, and Heavy Lifting & Loading skills. His underlying goal? To do tasks that require underlying physical strength.

From Tasking to Financial Management
“I’ve been consistently doing Taskrabbit tasks for two years and doing moving work for six,” Kyle explains. “I’m big into fitness, so Moving seemed like a category I would enjoy! It has turned into my full-time occupation and allowed me to make a good living doing something I genuinely enjoy.”
Some of the most common questions Taskrabbit gets from prospective Taskers are about income potential, and Kyle’s experience provides valuable insights. “On a good month, I can make anywhere from $10,000 to $12,000 doing just Moving tasks,” he says. “Using general financial apps and banking apps like Found really helps me. These types of apps can track everything for you, including your budget and taxes, so it’s fairly easy to stay disciplined.”
By leveraging modern financial tools, Kyle ensures that he remains on top of his earnings and expenses, making financial management a breeze.
“Using a calendar app like Google Calendar is also great for keeping track of other responsibilities, priorities, and commitments that I have outside of tasking,” he goes on to say. “Integrating this type of scheduling app with Taskrabbit helps me keep my days, weeks, and months organized so nothing slips through the cracks.”

Balancing Work, Finance, and Business Growth
Kyle’s typical day is filled with physical activity and client interactions. “It’s a lot of driving, a good amount of sweating (I definitely always keep a jug of water handy), meeting great clients, and getting the job done!” he says. Ultimately, the physical demands placed on Kyle are balanced by the satisfaction he gets from helping clients complete tasks efficiently.
That said, life still happens between tasks, and Kyle emphasizes the importance of having an emergency fund. “Always keep an emergency fund for any miscellaneous expenses,” he says. “$5,000 to $10,000 should cover anything you may need unexpectedly, including vehicle repairs and maintenance, tools, and any other everyday items. For example, I unfortunately had my tools and work equipment stolen out of my truck, but luckily I had money put aside to account for it!”
Kyle also offers practical advice for those starting out with Moving tasks. “It will absolutely help if you’re in decent physical shape, as lots of jobs require heavy lifting and carrying items up and down stairs,” he explains. “Invest in good equipment such as dollies, moving pads, ratchet straps, and a moving vehicle (if you want to do Moving tasks that require it). Having at least a pickup truck will always help. Lastly, Moving tasks can be a bit complex, especially when you’re trying to pack a truck as tightly as possible to fit all your clients’ belongings. Watching YouTube videos on packing trucks safely, along with building personal experience, helps a lot. This is also where you’ll most impress clients!”
Kyle’s journey from fitness enthusiast to successful Tasker is a testament to the opportunities available on Taskrabbit. His dedication to his physical abilities, client satisfaction, and strategic financial management have set him up for the type of success he has always wanted.
